Green Travel In Panama

Are you planning to make a trip to Panama and at the same time contribute your share in saving the planet earth from global warming? You may book at one of the eco tourism trips in Panama. For your trip to be considered eco tourism or green travel, you must make sure that the environment and/or the residents of the region benefit from your trip. You may choose from full day or overnight rafting with per person prices at $90 for full day and $160 for overnight rafting. Students are normally given special discounts. These prices cover transportation, equipment, guides, water, and meals.

The region of Chirique offers eco adventures on the Quetzales trails, if you want to go hiking. You can trek the trail of El Sendero de los Quetzales. It is a 6 mile trail. While hiking, you can experience the cloud forests, rivers, streams and water falls of Chiriqui. Depending on your pace, this hike may take between 4-7 hours. It will be up to you whether you want to go uphill or downhill. Hiking prices in Panama range from $45 to $100 per person. There are also overnight trips, if you are into it.

Boquete region has the second longest zip line adventure offering. You can take a canopy tour on a zip line. There are 13 canopy platforms that will take you from one treetop to another. As you glide through the trees, you can encounter an unknown world, discover wild life along the way and see the native flora and fauna. Prices for this kind of adventure is $55 for students and $60 for others.

For your relaxation and exotic getaway, the most recommended place is the uninhabited island of Chiriqui Gulf National Park. You may choose from a trip to Bolanos by motorboat, or Isla Gamez. There is also an inclusive private island of Isla Paridita where you can snorkel or swim in the clear blue waters and see fish and corals. When you take a boat trip further away, you can see whales and dolphins.

If you so desire, you can lie down and relax on a hammock tied to coconut palm trees. Truly, there are many eco vacation opportunities in Panama.
